If you want to have a job/career for life, go into bill collecting. I've been doing it for 20 years. There are always jobs in the industry. When the economy is bad, more people default. When the economy is good, more people can pay. Most agencies pay bonuses if you do well. I love working just 40 hours a week, sitting on my ass all day, and just calling people.
