Is Idaho an ideal place to live

Mid 40's, wife/son. Sick of Los Angeles; the commute/traffic,people+crowds, homeless,crime, road rage, cost of living, fires etc.
Would love some info. Seems so nice and peaceful.

If you're cool with 4 season weather but still want all amenities, Boise is really a hidden gem. A lot of folks from California relocating.

I have family in Sandpoint. If you're a fishing/skiing person it's crazy affordable (or at least it was) and can't beat the nature around it.

Lake Coeur d'Alene is beautiful...would be an awesome place to have a cabin out in the woods if you like being out in nature.

There was a article in The La Times about Texas and Boise .Californians are moving there big time.Boise home prices are skyrocketing because of all the people from La and Seattle moving there. Prices in Boise are now at 350 thousand and Hirer still way cheaper then ILa And Seattle but getting hire. Places all over the southwest are getting expensive, Phoenix,Las Vegas, Henderson and Dallas Ft Worth. Some folks I know moved to Saginaw Tx house starts at 275 and rising.With the Overpopulation and everybody wanting to be in the good weather these southwest areas will get more expensive and worse unless we have a collapse like 08.

I love Henderson made the list lol. Still cheap though just looking at new places for a second house and you can still get a good place 3-4 bed in a clean neighborhood for under 300.

Our friends are making San Francisco wages and moving to Boise to work remotely. Which mean they get a giant house. They will travel back to bay area once a month which is still cheaper than living in SF and the commute will actually still be around the same haha

For those that are upset people are moving there I understand your frustration. Welcome to my world. I've been a Cali native since my parents immigrated here in the late 70's. Ive seen the big earthquake in 94 bottoming out housing prices and the scum of society then moved in on the cheap and scoop them up and since then a steady decline in the quality of life and abundant scummy people. L.A. is a wasteland refugee camp +homeless. I cant even go to a mall or public area and not wanna puke just looking at anyone.
However, I think you (dlo, packard, hostile) have made (no idea how) the conclusion I am part of that scum that would be a burden on the state.

i just googled fine dining restaurants in boise. the pictures for the top restaurants had french fries. that sounds awful. the space would be great, but without the amenities of living in a big city it would be hard.

Couer D'Alene is nice but prepare to be recruited to a militia

Sun Valley/Kethcum is the way to go
