I did it 3 years ago and you have to go through the ackward stage at first. I'm of Scottish heritage so my hair grows very quickly.

I keep it just a little bit more then a 5 o clock shadow. I don't really watch much tv or movies, so think like Jimmy G I guess.

Def helps with the jawline/cheek bone / face shape and I don't look like a little boy, even at 40 (still get carded argh!)

I went mountain man this summer to try it out, have all the beard oil/balm/combs.

It's just not for me. If it becomes work, I hate it.

I’ve done it before. The key I’ve found to deal with the itch is beard shampoo and putting some type of face lotion on. Gotta keep the beard soft when it’s short.

You are right about the jaw thing. I have a pretty decent one, or at least I think I do. However, after growing a thick beard, you become accustomed to it appearing as if you have an even stronger jaw. You never realize how small your chin is until the day you shave that beard.
