affiliate or booking on my own

I've been thinking about either sending players to sportsbook as an affiliate (and get a commision from their losses) or starting booking some of their action myself.

I'm curious to see how possible is to make money having a small online sportsbook and have people I know placing their bets there. I have seen sportsbooks that pay from 15 up to 40% of losses, but leaving 85% on the table makes me hesitant in trying to run my own thing.

Zero risk being an affiliate. Don't have to worry about the law, deadbeats or a bad week. If none of those are issues for you then book it yourself. Make sure you know your customers because arber's and value bettors will pick your bones clean.

Before you even consider becoming a bookie, make sure you have a very large bankroll. Being a bookie is a business, and like any business, you need investment capital. Otherwise, the first week a couple players hit lucky parlays, not only will your business go bannkrup, but you’ll become just another deadbeat dirtbag.

In short, if you don't want to worry about "bad weeks", in exchange for a lower profit margin, then affiliate betting is for you. There are very few people which are willing to start booking players themselves (even though I can see how much more exciting it would be )
