Why do some posters start a whole new thread about something that is already being discussed in other threads or even a thread that's already existing Titled about the exact same subject?

Naaa not talking about that JJ
For example, I posted a thread about the North Carolina vs Wake Forest game tonight.
But I would not have created it had you already created your daily card thread and if there were already multiple posts about this game in particular in your thread.
Why wouldn't I just chime in there with everyone already discussing the Game instead of trying to steal the thunder and creating my own thread
Is it because I wanted my own attention in the subject?
Is it because I don't like the group of posters already discussing?
Yes sometimes it's overlooked/missed but most of the time notComment -

#14I think you know the answer to your own question.
We have quite a few attention whores here, guys like BigDaddy "No Show" Douche Nozzle and Cosbyorino go to great extremes to try to get attention.
When they don't get it, or it's not the attention they thought they'd get, they go on tilt...attacking any and everything.
Let them have their attention Hman, or we might have some kind of mass shooting on our hands.

#15only time this shit happens to me is if, after checking the saloon, where such a thread should be, and it's empty on the fukkin' topic, I start one there, only to find out later the fuksticks at SBR allowed some fukhead like JJ Gold, Laker Boy, or some other "favored fukkin' poster" to post the same shit in Player's Talk (a place where if i'd posted the same fukkin thread it would have been shipped to the mother fukkin' saloon in 4.5 seconds.....)
while as of late sbr seems to be shippin all dogshit non-sports gambling related threads to the saloon, the allowing of certain mother fukkers to post non-sports gambling shit in player's talk still exits..... like that stupid fuk JJ and his fukkin' golf swing.... I put some gay fukkin' shit like that up in Players Talk, I'd probably get a mother fukkin' infraction in addition to the trip to the fukkin' saloon.....
there's probably a handful of such bullshit threads in P.T. right fukkin' now.......Comment -

Here's a made up example of what I mean Donk.
You post a thread about Tom Brady and his wife.
In that thread all kinds of things are bring discussed.
Then someone calls Brady the goat in that thread and there are 2 full pages straight debating that.
Then another poster creates a thread titled "Is Tom Brady The Goat?"
I mean seriously??
It wasn't good enough that it was already being discussed in another thread, they had to steal the idea/topic for their own?!?
Is KVB right?Comment -

#17So many different subtleties there Hman.
I see what you're saying. It's tough to say why.
Some topics deserve their own threads, I suppose.
I can't get into that mentality some posters have, about owning ideas or plays, or somehow thinking it's a competition for views.
Maybe you're right, they see it as stimulating discussion and want to have a "successful" thread for attention. I laugh at those guys, if Dawg and JTS go in there and make it 3 pages long, those guys that started the thread feel some validation, and think they are essential to SBR, as if the place would die without them.
Personally, I'm the exact opposite. I don't think about any of that. It's funny, when you look at the number views the thread with my plays get every hour of every day, but I just started noticing it when Cosbyorino claimed no one can see my plays, which is my design. Turns out he couldn't have been more wrong.
I just let the ignorant speak and quietly do my thing. Although the number of views is alarming, and maybe too many, so I may have to stop posting plays.
You see, unlike so many, I'm not an attention whore.
lol.
