and yah, i know there are people who prefer the freedom of the streets and leave shelters, low rent housing, etc, and "prefer" the streets, but most of those fukkers are insane.....

It's becoming lucrative and attractive to go homeless in LA.

They are passing out free tents, free food, and giving free money out to the homeless in LA. The law makers just keep throwing more money at it and it just attracts more homeless. It's where happy homeless dreams are made and realized!!

I don’t give “sign people” any money. I offer them bottled water and packs of cookies I keep in my car. Sometimes the reasons for money get very inventive.
“I have a job offer at a restaurant but I need to buy two black pants and some white shirts”.
“I have an interview for this great job but I need cab fare to get over there”.
“I can get a job with this plumber but he said I need to buy a few tools if I wanted to work with him”.

Still It's annoying though as there are so many begging every where in LA. Freeway on ramps, corner lights, in front of stores, etc. Always asking you for some spare change. I know they'll just use that money I give them to buy a crack rock and or bottle of booze though. I still give at times.

TheGoldenGoose has the right idea. If you give them cash you can never be sure they won't spend it on booze or drugs. If you give them food or water, even if they're not genuinely in need the worst that can happen is they get something free to eat/drink.
