The animal shelter I have been volunteering with for the past month has an opening on their board of directors. I reached out with interest and the members want to add me.

Work with 1-3 local non profits as BOD in free time, become specialized in a for-profit field (this needs work but hey I’m employed now in tech), eventually become BOD for a company.

I am going to make an impact with my life. I want to do more.

Volunteered 3 times. They sent out an email asking for help with finances and a plan for the future, offering an invited director seat, held until end of year. Emailed with interest and my background and they said I would be in once they meet me and verify my references.

Not an official director as they are only voted in annually by the volunteer community of the rescue and have minimum volunteer history requirements.
