Went under the raft for a few seconds.....

Rode it out....

That could be scary.. I've been on level five rapids with boulders in the waters.. I went in a few times in level five rapids back in the day.. Costa Rica had some level 5 rapids in the rain forests now that was hairy!!! Was on a raft with 8 people, foots strapped in and paddle in hand.. Helmet and vest on.

MUST listen to raft captain instructions or the entire raft slams into boulder rocks. I was nervous and paddling my asss off.. That was 20 years ago..

Have not rapid water rafted since. I'm out!!!

Doesn't sound near death to me

I think most of us have experienced near death, I can name a dozen of them myself. Rapids in the waters falling out of raft is life threatening but if you have vest and helmet and try to go feet forward on your back and ride it out into calmer waters you will be good..

I rank it at the bottom of near death experiences honestly.. You could die and drown though for sure on level 5..

I’m sure it was loaded. Guy was a crazy mofo. Always messed w me cause his brother brought me into the clique so guess that made me a target! Lol. One of only times I had to use words to resolve a conflict, like “please don’t kill me!” Lol.,
