I think they should eat the hot dog whole and not dip them in water and see how many they eat, buns with water is horrible. It is disgusting when you see wet bread in the sink.

The UNDER 73.5 is now -170.
Interesting because Joey Chestnut has broken his own records the past three consecutive years...
72, 73, and 74 last year.
Regression this year???

I think the under will cash.
Cincotti was Joey's biggest competition last year (63 hot dogs) and he is not competing this year because he retired.
Without Cincotti chasing him I can see Chestnut letting up near the end when he is ahead by 20+ fukkin hot dogs.

Four years ago when Joey only ate 60 dogs.
Look at what he has done since: 70, 72, 74
Ok Maybe he won't be ahead by 20 fukkin hot dogs, but he should still have a comfortable lead.

He ate 71 hotdogs. Won by 21 hotdogs.
"I was going for 75," Chestnut told ESPN shortly after finishing. "I always want a new record. I came out fast, but I slowed down faster than I would have liked."

It's his 12th victory and his 4th in the last 5 years.
Has there been a Dynasty or Champion more dominant?

Nobody I can think of comes to mind. He has also made the sport grow. Everywhere I go it seems there are hot dog eating contests. I will be attending one tonight.

Miki Sudo, age 33, repeated as women's champion by firing down 31 hot dogs. Six shy of her record setting 37 last year. We should have all been on the UNDERS. It always looks so easy after it's over.
