Terror fears as 'parcel bomb' explosion injures 13 in Lyon
Police have sealed off the central Victor Hugo area where the wounded are being treated.
One of the casualties is thought to be an eight-year-old girl.
The parcel bomb device was packed with nails, screws and bolts, LyonMag reports.
It detonated around 5.30pm local time outside a bakery after a man riding a bike reportedly dropped a suitcase.
One local shopkeeper said: "I heard a big boom, I wondered what it was. I went out."
Another hotel owner saw "metal plates on the floor as a kind of circuit board and scattered papers".
He added: "We saw a very panicked woman and a man with a bleeding leg taking refuge in a clothing business."
