The fan kept it.
For those that don't want to read a lengthy article.

It has a value to it.
Just as professional sports players charge $$$ for their autographs. If something has value, it is not wrong to charge a fair price for something even if that object could have sentimental value to someone else.
If the fan refused to sell to Pujols after a fair offer was made, then I could see an article being warranted.

It isnt worth shit unless there is notarized document stating that is the ball that was pitched to Albert and gave him his 2000th RBI. Somehow I doubt it but id MLB have a bag of balsl spcifically documented for the milestone and only to be used when pitching to Albert, I doubt it so truly, its worth $9.99 unless it has some sort of traceability and not just the tv showing him catch a HR ball. SHould have took hs payday when he had the chance.

They didn't exactly offer him a pay day for the ball. Just meet and greet and some autographed souvenirs.
The fact his face was plastered all over the camera is enough he can provide a provenance to the ball if he were to put it up for auction. It's not like he can sell it 100x.

I'd keep it too.
But then sell it on ebay to the highest bidder

Wait til after Albert has retired. Plenty of provenance on this ball. Can also get affidavits from people next to him. That, plus TV footage is probably way more prov than most memorabilia. Having said that, it doesn't have a value like his final home run IF he can keep his health and makes a run at Aaron, but its worth more than what he was offered
