Walk around enthusiastic and you will see most people will look at you like you are crazy for it

most people look tired, banged up, depressed, lifeless

people become jaded, when i go running/hiking guess who acknowledges and greets most often....children, life hasn't worn them down yet

I now go out of my way to say hello even in passing while running...9/10 puts a smile on a face...
