Armed robber demands condoms and money.
A hot-and-bothered gunman walked into a Queens pharmacy demanding condoms and money, then opened fire when the store worker balked, police and law-enforcement sources said Friday.
“Where are the condoms? Give me the money!,” the suspect barked at the 27-year-old clerk behind the counter at the Sunnyside Pharmacy on Skillman Avenue in Sunnyside just before 2 p.m. Thursday, according to a police source.
Photographs released by cops Friday show the suspect holding his gun with two hands pointing it over the counter. The criminal fired two shots at the clerk when he wouldn’t help him, striking the victim once in the shoulder, police said.
“They took him out on a stretcher. I did see blood on the sheets. This was shocking,” wailed Ariana Negron, 19, who works as a representative at Allstate insurance two stores away from Sunnyside Pharmacy.
“This is our first incident,” said Mike A., 22, a technician at Sunnyside Pharmacy, “It looks very quiet here but you never know what could happen.”
The wounded worker was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was treated and released.
