Wow airlines shut down - very upsetting for me

I love to travel and wow airlines made it possible to cheaply visit other countries. In Europe flights between countries are almost always under $100 each way. I traveled from UK to Dublin for $15 flight and Amsterdam to Barcelona for $20. Here in the US flights are $200 minimum each way usually. It sucks that for both flying and train travel, the US is probably the most inefficient market with much higher prices.

Was looking forward to traveling via wow airlines again this year after using them to visit 5 European countries last year. For those looking to continue cheaply traveling to the EU, look into Norwegian airlines and flights out of NY / Newark NJ for low cost options.

Sad day and very unfortunate for anyone left stranded.

If you fly 2-3 days a week then you are likely used to luxury.

Considering how rare it is that a commercial plane crashes, I’ll take my $150 vs $500 one way cost for “less safety features”. I am unaware of what you mean by that except that I know there are zero extras on board and everything is economy.

The US is by far the most inefficient and expensive travel system of major economic countries. It’s unfortunate.

I also love spirit airlines which you likely despise with a passion.

Assumed it was because of lack of new funding. The way fuel cost fluctuate gotta be tough for budget airlines to stay in business.

Yeah, they had been in talks with possible companies/investors that would have bought them out. Unfortunately they all fell thru recently.

I never realized how small they were until last fall. There was talk of a company buyout last November for a mere $22 million. Figured an airline would always be worth at least 100 million. Must have been all leases, no owned planes. I wonder how easy it is to remove the Pink exterior of the plane to re-lease to another airline.

i read they are no thrills, no water no snacks no in flight entertainment, flights were dirt cheap, maybe that's why they went out of business with the cost of jetfuel they were prob making 100 off each flight

$200 round trip in the US is a steal IMO

even if you were to get a buddy pass and fly stand by you would pay close to that amount and you are not even guaranteed and seat and if you get one it will likely be a middle seat
