Hp is a good brand, and 9/10 you wont have any issues, you happend to get that small margin of fukked up lol it happens jibbs, no reason to write them off, cause you could buy a new one and more than likely you'll have zero issues

Try yelp, HP warranty and Laps and all you will read is one star and bad reviews. Try and Google HP laptop reviews.. Lot's of one star ratings. I kid you not. The newer HP laptops are good for a year and that's it.. That's my conclusion.

HP blows.. I got lazy and paid the price.. Never again.. Printers are ok though. I have one. Ink cartridges are bank and I go thru them quickly..

I'm done with HP!!!

HP admitted a few years back that they intentionally cycled your printer (on every power up) to use ink so you'd have to buy more and more. HP lost a lot of customers because of this.

I once did a test on an old HP Deskjet printer... fresh black ink... and fresh color ink. I changed the printer settings to only print in black... for every print job. Mysteriously the color cartridge was bone dry after 300 prints. (Never printed in color).

After I did the test... I purchased a Brother laser jet printer... original ink lasted about 3 years. I couldn't believe it. Glad I made the switch.

Had a nice gaming PC in 2005... oddly enough... it was a HP lol Spent around $2,500 at the time... lasted about 8 years. Nvidia card fried.

I agree on fix it - some kind of local repair guy. That being said hinge problems happen a lot when you google that issue. Walmarts - Costcos - those places have HP get them a truckload at cheaper prices so HP uses some cheaper components to fill the order. You think a Moen faucet at Walmart is just as good as a Moen faucet at a plumbing store?

But, anyway, I had two hinge connections go bad in the last ten years ($100 repair - no big deal). A buddy of mine that is a computer science engineer simply said - Do not open and close the lid every time you use it. Just leave the lid open and set it on a desk or table and it will last twice as long!

Duct tape works, this lap has now become a desk top over night.. Can't close it anymore. The power connection inlet is the problem now.. If I get it working and the light goes on this computer is good for now..

I feel like a jerk off trying make this work now.. It does have all my latest information on the HD drive.. I'll use it for now..

I've been a fan of ASUS since 1997. Had numerous ASUS PC's and laptops over the years and I only ever had one issue (with a laptop keyboard) and ASUS replaced the part at no charge even though it was 2 years past warranty date.

I don't game, I gamble and I stream live.. Have lightening fast internet service now in my area with Frontier fios. Got an entire system set up on the side of my house.. A battery deal as well mounted inside. It's a joke but the fastest offered in my area so they say.. Not alot of stall time when streaming.. Best I can get near the beach here in Santa Monica California, 90402. I pay for it monthly and it's not cheap..

We buy new because there is a 1 year guaranteed manufacturer warranty, and we buy new when we see a good deal with a coupon discount in a discount outlet store like Costco, it's new and out of the box.. Something to said about that. We do that to avoid the headaches early on...

Honestly.... you're better off building your PC from scratch for gaming. Loads of great videos at Youtube on making a gaming PC. Alienware is just a bunch of hype.

When I was in business during my younger years.... I must of spent 18k worth of HP products from 2004-2007. I was a huge fan of HP. When I found out about the printer fraud they were doing.... sh#$.... just blows my mind.

A consumer spends about $300 on a good HP Deskjet.... they spend $60-70 on color every 4-5 months. Do the math. Where do you get your value? We all know HP Ink is probably $2.00 to manufacturer.... probably... not even that. lol Could be under a $1.00

Yeah i have a $200 chromebook too thats super slim and portable. I love it. Don't ever buy apple. Apple is a ripoff and designed for people that just lole to waist money with no research.

I wish it was.. I'm on the warpath with giving HP Laps bad reviews.. Yelp, etc.. I told them I'd do this on the phone with a supervisor and I'm sure the call was recorded.. I gotta do what I said I'd do.. HP from what I can tell does not take care of the customers.. When that happens the Customer that isn't lazy will rage...

I'm done now but I was pissed off.. Felt like I bought a lemon and a warranty that didn't cover anything.. I'm not taking that sitting down as I don't like throwing money out the window.

The nightmare HP lap story!!!!

Bought my 17inch HP Laptop a year ago for around $1000 at Costco, the warranty just expired a month ago. Surely enough one computer hinge completely snapped when I opened it up just the other morning, it just completely popped away from the computer screen when I opened the laptop normally. I was shocked.. Screen is held up with duct tape now. I also just noticed the power cord connection has started shorting out, only charges and connects when I fiddle with the connection now. This top of the line HP computer is literally falling apart on me after just one year.

Long story short I went ahead and purchased a year extended warranty for $75.00 yesterday thru HP.com. I call up today to send it in for repairs and both issues aren't covered under the extended warranty. Physical breaks aren't covered they say both are physical breaks. I ask for a refund and they deny me it after just one day.. I was not happy and let them know that. Pissed off and felt ripped off.

In conclusion I will never buy an HP product again as long as I live.. The computers fall apart after a year and are junk. They are nice when they work but they won't work for long.

Time to go shopping for another laptop now, any suggestions people?
