is it a law that if you are too old to take care of your self then they have to care for you in a nursing home?

do they give out morphine in nursing homes?

No they do not have to care for you in a nursing home if you are too old to take care of yourself. Medicare only pays for 90 days of a nursing home and then you (or your heirs) need to make some painful decisions. Medicaid is the payer for nursing homes but you need to have minimal assets to qualify. They do give out morphine in nursing homes but usually only for hospice patients. So the trick is getting a Dr to give you 6 months or less to live and then you choose the hospice option and get all the drugs you want. Rinse and repeat after you don't die in 6 months.
