I was a fan of SpaceX and Musk and the dream to go to Mars even though I thought it was to dangerous and risky.. Radiation, duration of flight, mini meteor strikes to ship, risk of landing and take off to great. Death mission but I still loved the dream.

This news broke out yesterday..

My hunch is California taxes were to high.. California crusher of hopes and dreams for space travel now..

No matter how many years away it is, eventually this planet will be out of resources.

Try to set up on the moon first I say.. Baby steps first. Space X and Musk shooting for the stars to soon.. We don't have the technology yet for that journey to Mars without MAJOR risk..

Love to see some kind of set up on the moon first.. If you can't do it on the moon first you sure as hell won't be able to do it on Mars..

Well the dream is crushed for now.. Something went major wrong in California for Musk to call it quits.. I'm very disappointed Thrilla to say the least.. ..

Even if we somehow discovered some type of warp speed some day, I don't think it matters.

Yup space travel is very dangerous, why do you think more men haven't landed on the moon yet? We don't have warp or worm hole travel yet, not even close.. We need another alien space craft to crash so we can reverse engineer it.

We are babies here on earth just over populating and slowly destroying our planet.. Greed and selfishness is our down fall for humanity.. I so hope I'm wrong though.. Keeping it real.. We all know this deep down inside and we choose to live for the moment rather then the future anyways..

Been there done that already maybe? The moon hype is gone.. No real accomplishment at this point.. Won't get the funding or hype needed with moon missions perhaps?

Although if you set up a international colony station on the moon surface rather then the washed up obsolete international space station in our own orbit that would be a giant step going forward.. Mars is asking for to much right now.. That's just my take.

Again baby steps needed I think.. Funding needed as well for sure. Billionaires with wild imaginations don't grow on trees last I checked.. Elon Musk is one of the few and that's why I'm a fan of his...

The real point of my thread was to bash California for it's high taxes and people will now be out jobs with this move. The continued squeeze on the California wealthy is forcing businesses and people to move. Property owners are getting squeezed also with new licensing, property tax increases, city inspection fees, rent control, etc.

Did you read into that Rudy? I don't think you did.. Musk avoids coming out and saying just that, California State taxes are to high.. I read into that clearly.

The data is not visual outside our solar system. For example, they will track and monitor small dips in the light from a star over time. If that dip repeats and is regular, it is an orbital object. Based on the size and spectrography, they can infer some chemical contents, maybe. These supposed gaseous contents (based on specrography only) are guesses, as is the temperature. We don't know if there are other planets like Earth.
