Teachers have the best pensions out here.. Pensions will eventually kill any surplus this State has.. So mis managed.. Can't even fix our roads..

I am for education and if you are ever gonna spend tax dollars spend it on that.. I support the teachers on this.. Public Schools are jammed packed now thanks to open borders, teachers are up against it.. Tough job..

One of my best friends is a 4th grade public school teacher in the LA district.. He tells me how it's getting worse.. He also tells me how good his pension is going to be when he retires in a few years.. Still will receive the exact same pay checks after retirement..

A lot of state governments take away the same amount of money gained from the lotto from other funding sources. Schools usually don't get more money than they would of without the lotto. The extra money just ends up funding other crap that has nothing to do with education.

Teacher strikes in a few other states recently (Arizona, Colorado. North Carolina, Oklahoma, West Virginia I think). Definitely not just a California problem. Does California, with their left wing politics have more money to spend on education than those states?

Where I live, the original law had the lottery provide funds above and beyond what they state was offering. Then they tweaked it where the state would reduce their own funding to schools by how much the lottery was bringing in (which ended the surplus to schools). Now the lottery's profits just go into the state's general coffers.
