Season two was terrible. I was hoping Vice Vaughn would be good in that role, but man, he was just awful.

The drop off from season one to season two was amazingly drastic.

Couldn't finish it, terrible. I didn't get through a single episode in one sitting and only watched 3 and a half episodes before calling it quits. Loved the first season.

Yeah. S2 was brutal. The new season can only be better. I'll check it out.

I think I couldn't get past episode 2 of season 2 and it took me like 8 attempts to do that. I've never seen anything that awful in my life.

Colin Farrell was the only decent lead in that. Vince was so cringy... he was a cartoonish villain, his wife was hot AF though.

The gay cop who used to get raped by his own mother and the emotionless woman cop who was some sort of knife ninja was the cherry on top, what a clusterfuckk

Plus season 1 was so amazing, our hopes were too high. True Detective S1 is probably the best detective show in history, it is so dark and it has everything in it... the contrast of characters, the unstable alcoholic cop (Rust) had so much redeeming qualities we loved him (smart, killer instincts, witty, tortured), while Marty, "the family man" was un unfaithful scumbag with a closed mind, but arguably very likable too. They complemented each other perfectly.

The dialogues they share in the car, especially during the 1st 3 episodes, have me dying every single time. What chemistry. Those 2 should work those characters again...

I thought season 2 was really good. As was season 1. I ignore the critics though.
