like McCain was shot down over North Viet Nam and stayed at the Hanoi Hilton although
not as long as McCain. When he got out we had a little party for him he got $137,000 back pay
from his time in confinement a lot of money at the time but never in the news outside
the local paper.

An American historical figure who flew into battle for the country & whose abilities in the
cockpit IMO surpassed McCain did get a worthy send off but nothing like this.

As someone who typically votes Republican, back in 2008, I wouldn't vote for McCain. I flat out refused. So no, "Pubs" didn't love him. He felt it was "his" turn to get run and got his ass handed to him. Kind of like Hillary!
