Owning your home is a bit over rated and expensive IMO.. I know from experience. It's misleading as well, you really don't own it as the bank does until you pay off that 30 year mortgage loan.. Bank forces you to get fire insurance as well, you have property taxes yearly.. Water, trash and utilities can get expensive as well in a big home.. Then you got gardening, tree trimming and eventual roof repairs to deal with. Could have tree roots hit your drains under ground and that gets really expensive to fix also, Etc..

It's kinda like buying a new fancy sports car on loan with a lot of miles on it, you are excited to drive it at first and for a few months then the thrill is gone, it then becomes a financial grind paying those monthly car payments, paying for expensive repairs as it just gets older and begins to break down regularly on you..

Sometimes I just wish I rented a nice home and left all the repairs, headaches, expenses and property taxes to the landlord/owners.

I must say though, when you own your own home out right with no bank loan then it's a good time and different story..
