Little Freddie Magner. Was on my little league team and really could of been great if his mother let him play after he turned 9.

              Tony Gwynn

I grew up in San Diego and had the honor of watching him his entire career. Best pure hitter of his era bar none.

Pedro Guerrero. He was a decent enough outfielder for the Dodgers, but when Cey left they needed a 3B and put Guerrero over there. He didn't complain, and although he was horrific there he gave it his best. As most boys, I loved seeing the long ball, and Guerrero was one of the better power hitters of his time, back when 30 homers meant something. Also, I imagine his pitchers had mixed feelings about him at 3B. Although he was extremely error prone, whenever an upset batter would make a move toward the mound, they usually changed their mind when Guerrero also took a few steps toward the mound to protect his pitcher.

True, but then I remembered Freddie put gum in my hair in second grade during recess so I changed my mind.
