#40Shantaram is absolutely brilliant, Power of One a classic.
Just finished The Glass Castle which is worth a read, nothing amazing but a nice easy and entertaining read you can finish quickly.
Another couple of quick fun reads when I was into true life crazy stories are 'Don't Tell Mum I Work on the Rigs...She Thinks I'm a Piano Player in a Whorehouse' and 'Marching Powder', there's also another I can't think of the title where an Australian writer leaves his family to get into a cartel to write about what goes on which is unbelievable.Comment -

#47Once back in middle school was enough, don't need to reread a selective and subjective version of history with omissions and fish tales. No pun intended
I alrdy had a biased and subjective retelling of history growing up called the US educational system in school. Don't need another one from selective victors of the middle east
Besides subjectivity abounds right here on sbr with any and every gameComment -

#48I have a decent sized library with tons of books and will probably get more than I can read
during my lifetime, which is kind of stupid, and a book for everything
but the favorite of any book is of course the Holy Bible, the Douay Rhiems
not the KJV with 7 books missing.
If yes... I would love to hear some of your favorite passages.Comment -

#49For those of you that said the Bible... my question for you is... if Christianity was say... only 1/1000th as popular as it is today... in other words if the Bible was not a well known book and only a small percentage of the population were even aware of it... let's say only 1% of the population were even aware of the Bible, would it still be one of your favorite books(assuming that YOU would have still read it)? The content would be the same regardless of whether billions of people were aware of the bible or if only thousands of people were aware of the bible. If it was not a well known book... would it still be one of your favorites?
If yes... I would love to hear some of your favorite passages.Comment -

#50Favorite is hard to call, maybe "Fear And Loathing On The Campaign Trail 1972", politics from a distant age, yet it reminds me of the 2016 election. I read a couple a month, right now Im reading the "Killing Zone", by Fredrick Downs.

#62the frontiersman. history channel made it into a series. Reading a book on aaron burr right now. This shit going on now is tame compared of the stuff going on then. Also did you know that they never had tickets for president and vice president in those days. But in 1800 jefferson and burr tied so they changed into the form we are now in.Comment
