Catcher in the Rye is a favorite of mine as well... especially in my younger years. I'm not sure if you've read other stuff by J.D. Salinger but I highly recommend the short story Teddy. It's the last story in the book 9 Stories. Many of the stories are good but Teddy is my favorite of the 9.

Here's a link to an old thread that I started several years ago where I asked the same question:

I have a decent sized library with tons of books and will probably get more than I can read
during my lifetime, which is kind of stupid, and a book for everything
but the favorite of any book is of course the Holy Bible, the Douay Rhiems
not the KJV with 7 books missing.

I thought you meant sportsbooks too. My favorite reading book I guess is "The Stand" by Stephen King.

I would probably love the book more, because I totally loved the storyline, but the acting was par or subpar, I thought the movie had potential to be bigger than Hunger Games / Divergent if they had just a little better directing and acting.
