Education is more an industry than teaching the masses informative knowledge for their future. Learning about what happened or didn't happen 300 years ago in a war is not really useful. Learning about algebra for most is a waste of time. College is one of the craziest things in this country. So many people going in to massive un defaultable debt to earn a piece of paper that may or may not be useful for their future.
