My mind is made up.
To be fair, we have two winners in their top decade of basketball.
1.Bird wins this: Bird the best shooter/assists and all-around skills.
2. LeBron in his best decade:
Wins as the most athletic with strength, combined. And he definitely wins the injury battle, almost never any serious injuries.
3. Bird was practically suicidal with his high-risk basketball play.
4. LeBron almost never risks diving for loose balls, maybe he thinks it's smarter to avoid injury, whereas, Bird could have cared less.
5. The best all-around? Bird wins of course because LeBron 's best games are where de ducks after making fast/quick powerful moves to the basket.
Meaning; Bird used his entire arsenal of weapons to score.
And yes, being a bit slow and 6-9, he had to.
LeBron has his game down pat, especially with those huge slam-dunks. In today's NBA, he doesn't need other skills to dominate, so he stays with what he does best.
The Conclusion:
Bird's the best player all-around.
Lebron is the best player today...period.
Different era's and different rules, players, too.
Bird played against the best center's of all-time. Tough, tough gig.
LeBron has seen Shaq--who I see as over-rated and isn't he about the only big-time center competition LB has needed to face? Seems no center can stop LeBron in today's NBA?
Look at this battle of experienced wits on who's the best ..
BIRD OR LEBRON?
