Interesting, I wonder what they count as an attempt i.e. what is a "cry for help" where the person does something where they're almost certain to be found and saved in time versus actually doing the deed. I would think that would factor into it

I remember reading that a lot of women "attempt" suicide by taking pills.

I'll have to tell my wife about this stat and add it to my list of things that women can't do better than men.

I think means of suicide definitely plays a part but I wonder what else is at play with that significant inverse relationship

Do women do it more as a cry for help? Trying to get attention? Too lazy to research how to do it right? Or is it purely the less efficient means?

Remember reading about stats like these years ago. Men use guns more than women and women look for the attention more than men which want to outright kill themselves.

Men often use guns which are very effective, women rarely do that.
