The gov't allegedly pressed Microsoft for a backdoor and Microsoft allegedly refused. That was years ago.

Microsoft eventually removed the Elephant Diffuser from Bitlocker and many argue that there would be no reason to do such a thing unless you wanted to make the encryption weaker.

Gov't agencies have tactics to exploit a running Bitlocker system and that Elephant Diffuser removal may have helped.

Does Microsoft themselves access drives? Probably not.

If you don't know what the Elephant Diffuser is/was, don't reply.

      With love Sammy!
