Maybe, just maybe one of these days I'll buy a new car? I doubt it. Are most of them not about as ugly as having a plain girlfriend whose looks just do not inspire you any longer?

Okay, these used MB's have caught my eye, and man, for a hot looking one, say 12 to 15 years old, they hold a high price, or maybe, is it simply a high value?
And sound advice, good or bad?

    This one for instance.
    1. Red. $13,900.

I own a 2006 clk350 convertible looks just like black one but it has a small back seat.
Kids ok some adults if seats are forward but its tough for me to get in back seat and
    i have to sit sideways.
Nice car but everything is expensive. dealer oil change $200 $150 quick change $100 Walmart yes i asked them
Tires Yearly, and you cant rotate them they are staggered skinny in front wide in rear.
Wife hit a pot hole and dented 2 rims and cut a tire (low profiles) $500 each rim and $250 for tire
and she set off the roll bar protection they charged her $40 to reset that which we could of done ourselves.
We like it but wouldn't but another.

Just stay away from used European luxury cars. They are maintenance nightmares, and everything is expensive to fix. There's a reason the people who buy them trade them in every few years, and it's not because they're affluent.

I have worked at an automobile dealership since the late 90's and the one thing that has been consistent is that German luxury cars out of warranty are VERY expensive to own.

$10k-14k for a 12-15 year old Benz seems awfully expensive. If you need a luxury car why not get a BMW? They look better imo, and you should be able to find a newer one at a better price.

what would be considered a good car by your standards...something 3-4 years old and 25-30k budget?

From what one of my Arab friends has told me... Mercedes is the way to go for overall longevity VS American cars.

But just like the posters above had said... most of the Mercedes maintenance work must be done at the dealership from my understanding.

For instance... a windshield washer pump failed on a very old Mercedes. The pump alone and labor came out to be $1,800.00 (Ridiculous)

Apparently... most American owned car repair places don't know how to repair the vehicles???

WOW! Scary stuff here my mates. Thanks a bunch. I have quickly fell out of love for this cute Mercedes and the entire idea of ever owning one.
                        Gads, kaput, $%&$$.

Mates, it pays to get experienced knowledge about a field you have no clue of.
I'm giving up 5 points a piece to these unselfish mate's on board.

Course, one or two had to show their personal sarcasm.
Don't we love these brats when they display their IQ?

Just guessing now...55,000 for the red and 75 ,000 for black. Both were like 2004's.

Back in 2008-2009 we paid $24k out the door for our 350clk convertible 2006
They wanted 32k but I had $24k cash and I wouldnt budge.

Also about a year after we got it the check engine light goes on and off every so often
and the engine code says cam position sensor , which i did some searching and found its common
for that car and some Big money to fix, so the car still runs fine so just ran with it.

So you're still fine with that 24 g purchase? How much to maintain each 30-90 days? Oil change, grease, anything routine, please? Just a curiosity now for I have lost a ton of interest thanks to these honest replies.
