To be fair this wasn't all Amazon (they didn't help though). The store in our town started turning into a dump before Amazon became a major issue for brick and mortar stores. We have some smaller toy stores in town doing just fine because they are actually fun to go into and people tend to purchase toys at slightly higher prices. We even have a local arcade thriving because they make it a fun place to be when everybody is complaining about how modern game consoles destroyed arcades. A lot of the problem is many of these stores don't value the visitor's experience enough.

highlighted "stupid", it is not only the stupid but the selfish egomaniac parents
not all parents, but many
All my friends (mostly men between 45-85 and most of them with children) agree, that any man that has a child in this day and age might need an evaluation
men my age and older here on forum/planet that had they started practicing a practical solution to problems even I saw coming 30 plus years ago - we would be in much better shape as a nation and world.
Considering 20% of men or more that did have children were or are shit for fathers, it should be no surprise the country looks like it does.

Damn, a friggin toy store goes belly up and it turns into "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street" around here. Who'd of guessed that'd be the tipping point? I guess all we do now is await the impending arrival of the Four Horsemen.

Make sure his six year old chews on a piece of plastic and chokes to death on it? What the penetrate is wrong with you. Be a political oyster until your heart desires, but even an ignorant joke about someone's kid should be below that. You must be a Grade A piece of shit.

First record stores, now toy stores... many of the chain book stores bit the dust too.
I guess all we have to look forward to anymore are grocery stores. They still have those, right?

Before Amazon there was EBAY.
When EBAY was in it's hey day that was the beginning of the end for brick and mortar stores.
When Amazon hit it's stride, that was the death blow.
My dad used to tell me I'll go to stores everytime I want to see what I am buying.
My dads generation on the average pretty much felt that way, but as that generation passes on, the baby boomers, Gen X, and millenials on the whole shop via the internet.

I use Best Buy as a showroom, then go home and order Amazon online. Or even right in the store using my cell.

End of an era much like many brick and mortars. Who's fault is it? Yours. I'll bet many who are online orderers,
their ass hangs over the toilet seat and wipe their asses with towels, because their arms are too short.

They could have been the Amazon for toys and baby stuff had they innovated instead of taking 7B from corporate raiders and follow the exact same path as Kay-Bee.
Hope you enjoyed your leveraged buyout, guys — because 33,000 workers sure didn't

Best Toys R Us moment: Buying WWF action figures as a kid, first remote control racing car
Worst Toys R Us moment: Paid $49.99 for Nintento's 10 Yard Fight. Man that game sucked for 50 dollars. It felt like a lit my parents money on fire. What a waste.

It's sort of easy shopping at home.... it's just society. Plus, on anything that retails for $50.00.... you can basically get it for at least $5.00 off and free shipping online... sometimes NO TAX. You'd be a fool to spend that $50.00 + state tax at Toys R Us. Again, it's society now...
You take away the internet.... Toys R Us is still in business... probably one of the strongest Toy Stores around if not #1
