Which Movie is better, Rocky or Rocky II

Showtime has been playing both of these lately so we watched them, haven't seen either one of these movies in years.

had this argument with my brother last night

Rocky 1 easily, its shows him when he was yhe biggest loser on the block to becoming a star. Love the sentimental parts too like him yelling at Mick and then goin after him. Also when he first started training when his side was hurting and he couldnt run at all to the end of training when hes flying thru the streets. Gives me goosebumps throughout the movie. Rocky 2 was good though

Rocky 1 and 3, 4 were the best... Original Rocky was just classic, Mr T was scary at the time in 3.. The juicing Russian Drago in Rocky 4 was a good character too..

First Rocky was awesome. Also liked IV with Drago. The soundtrack was awesome too.

Rocky 2 when adrian woke up and told him to win then it went right to the training mode was fkkn awesome!!

Greatest villain was by far Drago. Movie isn't the "best" of the series but Drago makes IV the most fun to watch. Dosen't get better than fighting an evil Russian.

Well put. There is something about 4 I always liked. But there is no 4 without 1 or 2 so calling it the best who knows. I never cared for 3, I am not sure I even made it through 5 it was so bad, and 6 was solid.

The 1 time or so a year that I workout, I usually listen to a Rocky soundtrack heavy mix and the version of Going The Distance on it starts with her saying "win". It's the second time she says it kind of whispery.

I'd say they're both about the same. Rocky and Rocky II are basically one long-ass movie divided into two installments. They're the only Rocky movies that seamlessly segue into one another.

Rocky was a classic but Rocky II was pretty good for a sequel. I still give the edge to the first one.

Just needing to ask the question at all shows II must be pretty awesome compared to just about any other movie sequel.
