Never saw The Wire when it was on. But so many of my friends said I would love it.
Couple years ago, decided to give it a real shot.
Took way more than 2 episodes to get into it. But after completing the whole series,
I am firmly in the #1 show of all time.

Slow burn to start the series but the second season with the Polish dock workers is when it gets hot. Don’t know about #1 all time but solid top 5 imo.

This is a little off topic....but a fun story. Back when the Sopranos were on, a few of the guys were hired to "host" a superbowl party at green valley ranch outside vegas. It was Christopher, Artie Bucco and Big Pussy. Through a connection I ended up hanging with those guys for the night, pounding Heinekens and tequilla shots. Christopher couldn't have been a nicer guy, very chill and down to earth. Artie (Jon) was a penetrating douche, complete creep/dick to women...I didn't have much interaction with Big P. It was the closest I'll ever come to being famous, there was a velvet rope with women just lining up. I'm an absolute nobody, but women were throwing themselves at me because they assumed I was somebody. I basically flew to close to the sun...it was an unreal feeling being "famous" for a few hours...At one point I said "Hey Spider, where's my penetrating drink"...he was polite enough to laugh at my drunk ass.

There is a lot of epic shit going on both shows. Fantasy can be fun too.

I hate Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, too childish, yet GoT is masterfully written and has characters for all tastes.

If you like the strong silent type... You can like Ned, The Hound, Bronn, Jon Snow, Tormund... etc, Tormund and the Hound are my favorites.

Yeah a few gays and lesbians, a few bi people... I get it... some gay scenes are beyond graphic especially 1st 2 seasons. Some people are way thrown down by that.

Ralphie was great! He knew he could act like an asshole because he was a Top 5 earner! That is until he started pissing off Tony, but he still had some of the best one-liners of the series.
