Guess top is chifrijo. A bowl of rice, beans, pico de gallo (tomato, onion, garlic, cilantro, lemon) and chicharron (pork belly) usually served with patacones (plantain chips).... goes great w hot sauce and beer.

I also like olla de carne... which is beef soup with tons of veggies... cassava, corn, carrots, potatoes, chayote etc... great for hangovers....

Other than that there arent many native good dishes... i eat a lot chiken, beef, pork, seafood can be great too...


But of course peruvian cuisine is best for seafood... lots of international options in san jose...

I got the perfect seafood place... is 100% fresh, they receive the product everyday in the mornings and they close around 6pm once they are depleted... the ceviche and soup there are legendary...

For pork there are some serious places that specialize in everything pork...

I can also take you to a legit Mexican restaurant owned by Yucatan chef... guy is an amazing cook, and great service, kinda far from my place but well worth it...
