It used to be almost socially acceptable down here in Australia when I was a kid.

I recall my mother tossing huge wads of newspaper that fish n chips had been wrapped in out the window at 60 mph in the late 60s and thinking it was kind of cool to watch the explosion of shit going everywhere from the back seat.

The side of every highway was lined with litter in those days.

Then the govt started a huge anti littering campaign and bought in fines and it worked really well. Hardly see anything road side these days.


Just a few weeks ago at a family event we were talking about it and I mentioned to my mother how weird it was we thought it was fine in those days... and the old dear got all indignant with me that she would have never done that! LOL

This is funny to me because you drive through the reservations here and there is garbage everywhere. It is windy at the gates of the mountains so there is plastic bags and a bunch of other shit stuck to barbwire fences, just blowing in the wind. It is embarrassing.

They have made a few local carparks around here rear end in only. As they say it makes it safer with the influx of migrants driving around here who have been backing out into moving cars a lot.

Trouble is some of them have so much trouble backing in it can turn into a traffic jam waiting for the clown show to end.
