IphomeX is actually the most expensive one that had the wireless charger, facial recognition , ect

iphone 8 and iphone 8 plus probably aren't as expensive, but I'm sure aren't that much less

Because you will get the new phone with all the flaws. Wasn't one of the iphones bendable just by putting it in your pocket? Then, they put more kevlar or some shit in it to strengthen the frame. Never buy brand new technology. Let the suckers wait in line for hours only to find out they got a piece of shit. Firmware will always be there. Lots of talk of huge demand and not enough supply. Apple stock can take a hit if they don't unroll this smoothly. iphone x will have the oled screen and all the new tech. Very limited.

Kinda sad that people will line up in droves to pay over $1k for a phone. I'm looking at new ones right now and have a hard time justify spending $600+ when I can get a new one that has great reviews for less than half that price (looking at Motorola G5 Plus). I just don't get what benefit or extra capabilities these phones have that make then worth 4-5 times as much? Maybe that's why I'm an Accountant...

Have had the G5 Plus a few weeks now. No complaints at all.

i'm an accountant too and i look at it as a tax writeoff

if software costs me $15k/year then i can at least spend $1000 on something i use every day... and it's a writeoff so it only costs me half as much net of taxes

I bought a 3GS in '09 for 200 renewing my contract with att, used that until '15, then bought the 6 for 200 with another renewal, which I still own today...that's 400 in phones plus another 120 for the two otter box cases...so 520 in harware over 8 years...hard to beat that

Yes, I used it until it could no longer run all the applications I needed. Needless to say when I upgraded it felt like I was transported into the future. The point is they are that durable(with otter box case), in fact the 3GS still hold a decent charge to this day. I still keep it running in case I need to reference old text messages, I have never deleted texts since 2009, mostly for business.
