#74someone mentioned "dukes of hazard". not sure it's a sitcom but i think it is an incredibly underrated TV show. lead 2 characters were vanilla but good, rest of the cast was top-notch (roscoe, enos, boss hogg, daisy, cooter, uncle jessie)Comment -

#79Interesting story on how that got cancelled. CBS I think it was was going to cancel Gunsmoke. The wife of the network's head honcho was a big Gunsmoke fan and when she heard about it she let him know how she felt about it so he kept the show on and instead gave Gilligan's Island the axe (and I presume another show as well since Gunsmoke was an hour long). But face it, if after 2 or 3 years without getting off that island by then they never would.Comment -

#84thank you
my educated guess is that this didn't end well...
did they try to get rescued every single episode?
question in similar vein: did every single episode of Three's Company revolve around a misunderstanding? i.e. therapist misinterpretted as "the rapist"
i realize in both cases at least most episodes revolved around those themesComment -

#86Yes, I think they all did revolve around a misunderstanding complicated by Jack having to act gay whenever Furley or the Ropers were around. I cant remember if the "therapist" episode was this one but may of been - one of the girls is dating a psychiatrist and the rest of them thinks he's a crazed lunatic who escaped from the mental institution. Have to track that one down, havent seen it in ages but it was hillarious.Comment -

#89Good call on the mentions of King of Queens. I can watch the same episode again after seeing it a dozen times already. Carrie was gorgeous for a while. Hell, still was fine when she put on the weight. Deacon, Arthur, and Doug were hilarious. Simple show, but what made it good. Probably why it was difficult to end it well. Bryan Cranston was great there too. Hulk as a neighbor. Great showComment -

#101Taking nothing away from all these 70/80/90s classics, but Sunny brought a whole new genre into the 1/2 hour sit-com.
These new shows probably aren't "family fare", but we have more than a few great "cringe worthy" shows on now if you have the time to watch:
The Detour
You`re the Worst
VEEP
Better Call Saul
Honorable mention:
Smilf. Set in Boston
Crashing. NY comic scene, tons of cameos.Comment -
