It's sort of dark here, but when you look at the sun, it doesn't look like anything is blocking it despite it being it being in full view.

Didn't get the glasses, tried the pinhole couldn't see it. Taped 4 pairs of sunglasses together worked good.

I looked at it without glasses for 1-2 seconds

there was a black disc coming up from the bottom
not side to side.
covered just over half.

then i got regular sunglasses and looked again
only 2 seconds.

had a bright green spot when i closed my eyes
small and in the middle. then a floater of purple
and a yellow spot too. matter of fact it was blue too.
weird how it changed color but you can't see it change color

won't do that again
took about 20 minutes to return to normal.

I had a hotel in Charleston reserved 2 years ago. Last week it was apparent that it would be cloudy there and lots of places in SC, GA, Tn and KY. Greenville, Clemson area looked clear so I rented a house for 2 nights luckily in Clemson. It was by the regional airport and near the stadium. Absolute bedlam but what an incredible dare I say spiritual event. I had 3 telescopes recording. Totality is something you have to see to believe.

Traffic on I85 is absolutely crazy. People say they've never seen so many cars in their lifetime. Awesome

Hotels we're all sold out all of SC. One hotel said they were sold out since 2013. A lot of gouging too. Roach motels going for $1,000/nt. Water $5. Paper glasses for $20. Ridiculous.

Austin 2024 is in my wheel house/backyard. I'm going to make plans now.

90%... close enough. I mean, it was cool but i didn't come away feeling more enlightened. It's just a rare occurance, the actual impact was overblown. Maybe if I was drinking at a party it would have been different.

Nashville area was great. We closed our office for the 30 minutes leading to the "totality". When it got dark all the crickets started to chirp. Then our automatic parking lot lights came on. Saw Jupiter and Venus in the sky. Just an awesome day in general.
