Best Buy had a Samsung 55" Smart TV on sale last week for $499 USD. My buddy works for Direct TV and said anyone that buys a 4K TV right now is wasting their money.

I paid 1K for a plasma, then broke it, and had to buy another. Broke that too. They don't even make them anymore, I think. I enjoyed plasma. The new shit always looks like a soap opera.

Well because there really isn't much in 4K right now and it is unknown when 4K will really take off. I guess if you can get a 4K cheap enough that it can't hurt.

That's actually called the soap opera effect. You can get rid of it though.
