Disney prides itself on safety. You can basically leave your kids in the park alone and disney will take care of them. They have an impeccable safety record. Now, the properties just had a kid get snatched by an alligator last year. Signs are all over the place warning people though.

Eh, Disney has a lot of fuked up stuff happening at the parks, but they have their own police force that keeps those incidents under raps for the most part. I bowl with two former security workers, so I've heard some weird shit. But I'd say for the amount of traffic that goes through the parks Disney does a hell of a job.

I'm guessing the the fault lies the with condition of the ride itself and the people charged with inspecting the machinery to ensure it's safe enough for passengers.

I doubt that hitting the emergency stop and having it result in people/cars flying into the stratosphere is considered normal under any circumstance.

This is a case of mechanical failure first and foremost... It's not like the guy with the mullet making minimum wage should be entrusted with dozens of human lives at the push of a precisely-timed button.

I watched an interview earlier today with someone who inspects rides for a living and he claimed(by watching the video) that x-rays were not most likely not performed on these rides and that welds probably broke(and were already broken) and were something that were not routinely checked by inspectors.

I didn't even know that they did x-rays on rides.

I honestly don't think that hitting the emergency stop button at the proper time would have made any difference in this thrill-ride failure. Guy probably hit the E-stop after it was already too late.

Eh, it's the State Fair. Big thing around here. Starts in a month here. Guarantee that ride was on its way here next. Same carnies, and all. I stay away from all that shit, the rides, not the carnies. Actually interesting to shoot the shit with them. Those chain swings are insane. Just waiting for the year I get to see someone fly off.

State fairs are alright. When you go every year cause it's in your City then it gets old. Still, there's great food, and sexy women everywhere. That's the best part. Every hoe comes out, young and old.

Tons of shit to do. Not a little county fair, or carnival. Shit gets expensive though, but I'm addicted to competition, so I play dumbass games when I don't care about the crap prize.
