those are whiting.... lined across the top..... the two small trout are sand trout, the forked tail bastard with the spots is a spanish mackeral, diggity knows all too well the trout with the spots are "speckled trout".....

but whiting are damn good to eat......

as for croakers, some non-traditionalist "fishermen" use small ones as bait for big trout..... cheating in my opinion, as I'm all articificial bait, silver spoons and soft plastics in the surf.....

but, i would eat decent sized croaker if fried up the same day they were caught.... nothing wrong with that.....

I grew up along the Chesapeake and those look like croaker we used to catch. And only certain "types" of fishermen ate them.

those "types" probably vote Democratic across the board..... we have them down here as well, they will eat gar, carp, hardhead catfish, and a few other types of fish that we call "n*%*$ fish"
