I have a compost in the backyard of 2 parts liberal and 1 part millennial.

Not the healthiest thing ever, but I figure I'm doing the world a favor at the same time.

Purina one smartblend wet food, and some Wellness dry food. Purina sounds bad, but whatever I get doesn't have corn, or any of that crap. Plus a treat every damn time he takes a piss, or shit.

He's turning 12 in a week or two, and still as obnoxious as ever. Life expectancy for his breed is like 9 years, so works for me. He's gonna outlive me. Is 10 pounds over average too, but not fat. Alpha male mafcka. Someone decided to cut his balls off, or I'd be rich.

I have a German Sheppard / Rott mix, he's about 120 lbs and eats twice a day, 3 lbs total. So it cost me about $6 a day to feed him.

Raw dog food like he is supposed to eat - also add cranberry, organic beans, carrot, sweet potato, organic egg etc. Keep them away from vets & shots. Shots & conventional crap food like Iams & Purina cause these angels to get cancer. Give him supplements like ubiquional. msm, quality curcumin, burdock, milk thistle, George's Aloe Vera (most aloe vera's are not good for pets) etc. Lots of running & grounding on the beach. Mix collodal silver in his water a few times a week for teeth health & to kill viruses. Accupuncture & some isochronic sound therapy.

avoid wet food or use very little at a time. Majority of the brands have some kind of "gravy." So even some of the good brands are still inferior to their dry counterparts because of the gravy/sauce. It's not that wet food is bad, but just not as good as the dry counterpart.

BARF diet is what I do, not 100% of the time but majority. It's not cheap if go on your own tho but you can get the price down a lot if you join a co-op.

The next dog I get I'm going to give it eggs and coffee in his diet like the guy who has Guinness records for the longest living cats.

Doctors attribute longevity to a combination of diet, genetics, and environment, but they are yet to discover any one single factor that guarantees a long life, or even, for that matter, an early death.
