More older men are having babies with very young women is why. Old sperm and older women having kids ups the chances as well. That would be my worst nightmare as a parent... I feel bad for couples that have autistic kids..

History happened, seems I'm always on the wrong side of it.

And yes, I agree with Nina. Obviously as science and medicine advance it becomes easier to identify things such as warning signs and how some seemingly unrelated issues all tie together.

Has autism shot up so much in 50 years? No, we've just become much better at identifying it.

but biggest two reason is that 50 years ago no one knew what autism, aspergers or the spectrum was.

so if they had a weird kid they didn't take him or her to doctor they just threw them in a bedroom and pretended they didn't exist

lots of super super weird autistic awkward anti social dudes that would never have talked to a girl, made big bucks as genius tech guys in the silcon valley boom ect.

they had gold diggers chase them down and they weirdos were able to pass their genes down. So now those weirdo babies are having babies at the turn of the century

Tests and studies are still being conducted today on the effects of DDT used back in the 50s and 60s as a mosquito repellent. Aside from crop dusters, trucks were driving through neighborhoods and spraying it out in the open with kids playing in the street

It's natural part of limiting human beings and population control. I'm sure most diseases are up quite a bit over the past few decades too, particularly once like cancer, ALS, Parkinsons, etc. Can't really be explained, but every being has had disease kill them in huge numbers. It's a natural and unexplainable part of the world.
