Was looking forward to this series since reading about its production schedule over a year ago; Watched episode 2 earlier today on HBO GO and it was superb. Ep1 was really good, too. This series is gonna deliver the goods... too many outstanding peeps involved in its making. Great casting of actors, as well.
Any fan of the original movie couldn't be happier with what they've seen so far (even blending in some philosophical themes); btw, Jack Weston's brother (Anthony Spinelli, nom-de-poon) made a true classic homage to the original Westworld in 1978 called SexWorld -- its properly recognized by porn aficionados as one of the best porn movies ever made.
Sure wish HBO would sign on to tackle a SexWorld series......

I feel lucky that I won't be binging this show as that would not do it the justice it deserves. So much to digest every week. Incredible acting, score, and visuals. Not since the pilot of Lost, have I been so excited for a show, except you know HBO will do it right.

Spot on take. Episode 2 was awesome too. Ton of interesting theories floating around
It's been sensational... thinking man's series with many philosophical undercurrents that deserve rumination pertaining to Real Life (or, perhaps... "Real Life").
Loved the original movie and had no idea they made a tv series. Will have to check out.

Opti... I'm confident you'll really like it. I similarly loved the original movie (was just a kid when it released to theaters in '73... saw it in 80's). BUT, this series is kickin the ass of the original -- it's the movie on steroids with the series format allowing the time to flesh out so many interesting themes only the imagination could bring to the original movie. Cast, writing, direction & production values... A+

Donk... it's not a passive watch like so many shows are... you gotta ENGAGE and think along what's being presented to absorb max value. Otherwise you're cheating yourself.
IOW, x outta the fukkin Dogfart vids and PAY THE FUK ATTENTION!
And oh, yeah... Thandie's T&A is of course appreciated. Also, I've always found Evan Rachel Wood to be a charismatic onscreen presence in whatever she's in... and such a diverse & talented actress.
Can handle wide-ranging roles -- plus, donker... Evan Rachel is openly Bi-sexual. HOLLA

If you are watching WestWorld, you should check out Joanna Robinson from the Vanity Fair. She has been breaking down each episode plus has been spot on so far about what is actually going on.
Unraveling the latest mysteries of HBO’s sci-fi Western.

A bisexual actress who dated Marilyn Manson...she is probably so psycho she would give Freud nightmares

Honestly I'm pretty disappointed in the most recent episode
With an episode titled "The bi-cameltoed mind" I expected it to be mostly Evan Rachel Wood at least walking around in really tight pants and maybe even showing some skin but nothing of the sort
Just watched the season 2 finale. WTF just happened? Great show but total mindfukk.

Charlotte Hale (the head security lady) had a project going where she could reach immortality like the Man in Black had with Peter Abernathy (the rich Irish guy). We know that because before she was killed there is talk about her wanting immortality. Have no idea how she did that but she was killed and replaced with a replica that apparently was perfected by Dr. Ford (so it would not scan as a robot) after death through his Benard robot. Dr. Ford ended up having the brain of Delores placed in the body of the remade Charlotte so she could leave the island undetected. She took along the brains of those she worked close to and Dr. Ford had a place set up for them to stay when she escaped. He also had one of those body construction machines set up in his place so "Charlotte" could build bodies around the brains she smuggled out. Pretty much Dr. Ford always wanted them to have a life outside the park and it's unclear if he wanted them to punish the humans like Delores keeps talking about. He just wanted his own creations to be able to live free.
The whole deal with the door and the other robots had to do with Maeve wanting live free with her daughter and others without being a slave to the humans but didn't want to go as far as Delores and just wanted to live in peace. All the robots were never aware that the door was just transporting their "souls" to a computer that simulated their entire world (or a world similar enough)which would naturally exclude humans inside a computer. To them it was just a better version of the place they were used to. Don't know if the computers survived after the flood though.
I could be wrong about all this but that is how I took it and there is so much more to the story. I do enjoy the show though.
