They were arrested in Australia. Canadian law won't have any impact. In any event, the bust was the biggest ever from a cruise ship or plane, probably won't go lightly on them. My sister lived in Australia for a few years and said something similar to what Optional posted.Comment -

Had to have had a bunch of suitcases with varying amounts in each one. Considering they were on a 2 month around the world cruise, I could see how bringing a lot of luggage on the ship could be explained reasonably. And I doubt these girls carried anything on their own aboard. Probably got some guys to do it. Plus luggage these days come equipped with wheels not an issue moving it around.
Someone mentioned earlier would have been smarter for them to throw the stuff overboard and have a boat pick it up rather than try to pass thru customs with 200 pounds of coke.
They had to have done this before tho if the plan was to pass thru customs. No one would risk that amount if it hadn't worked before. I bet the cartel had someone in the customs office on the payroll to insure they got thru. Problem was that the police were already tipped off beforehand.

It must have weighed in the neighborhood of 70 lbs...
