All I'm saying... I very rarely hear a story when someone says... WOW! I love this USED CAR I GOT!

Furthermore... these GM warranties... and Ford warranties are BS. All these dealerships are hustlers.

I purchased a brand new car in 08... got the guy to knock 10k off the sticker price.

I'm not buying no fukking used car.

Furthermore, there so many lease deals out there... sometimes leasing is the best alternative.

All it takes is a nice 2k-3k bill for an engine or trans... it defeats the purpose of USED. Just isn't worth the headache. Unless you know a VERY GOOD mechanic that knocks off 50% on any major repair off the going retail rate.

It was a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban Z71. Fully Loaded. It was brand new and the owner of the dealership was using it. I think the owner put on 6,200 miles? I think they were in a rush to sell it to get their own rebates and kick back? It was classified on my contract as NEW. Not used. Came with GM 3 Year 36,000 bumper to bumper. I added an extra 4 year warranty after the 3 years. No deductible etc. Same bumper to bumper coverage.

I'm trying to find the window sticker.... I misplaced it. But I'm more than certain the sticker said 56k or 57k.

I'm looking at my contract now and it stated value as $46,964.00

So... ball park... he knocked off around 10k.

The reason why I bring up a deal like this... is because everyone is so impatient when purchasing a vehicle. The sales reps see this out of you... and once they discover this... they never budge. When buying a car... always wait til the last weekend of the month. All dealerships have quotas and bonuses to sell more inventory. You can also try buying in July or August. These are slow months for Ford and GM.

If I find the sticker... I'll post my contract and sticker price.

I'm selling a great 2003 Subaru Forester for 5k right now. Sounds perfect for you. They take anything and never die.

Find the invoice, do 15 min of internet research, find out what a fair offer is based on mark up, advertising, fees, etc. Then, use True Car, Kelly's Blue Book to find what people in your area are paying for the model you want. E-mail the True Car reps and internet managers of dealerships in your area. They work on volume and aren't going to spend a ton of time on you. Send the e-mails and play the dealerships against each other. These guys are included tint, what can you do for me? These guys are matching a certain finance % that my credit union is offering, etc. You can have them fight for your business without stepping foot in the dealership. This way, you avoid the high pressure sales BS. You can also gauge how much wiggle room the dealership has on the price they are quoting you by how fast they get back to you and how much others you are talking with are willing to drop. I bought a '16 and had one salesman tell me, you got that for that price and they gave you that? I could tell by his tone that I was in a good price neighborhood. I was well below the best recorded prices listed on True Car in my area.

With all the information and medium to deal with cars these days, you are a if you stroll into a car dealership without an accepted offer. Much like gambling, the car industry takes advantage of the squares with no plan. They will lose money to move a unit to a sharp buyer because the squares will make up for it.

As far as the 0% for 72 months, there is always fine print. Hope you have an 800+ credit score. They use that to get you in the door, then run your credit and put you in a different finance %. They use a war of attrition to waste your time and just go with whatever.

Yes, it is true. It's in the fine print. A lot of BS commercials etc. A lot of sales reps always using leverage on you before you sign the deal.

But... if they really want the car sold.... they will give you 0% for 72 months.

Like I said... be patient... stay confident. Act like you don't need to buy the car today.

Later in the month the better deal you'll get. I have owned either nissan or cadilaac in last 20 years. Had pathfinder, then sentra and now altima se . Bought it in 2014. i usually drove betweem 65 to 70,000 a year. The altima gets 38 highway and 27 in city. Good car and roomy
