It has its perks. House gets maintained, laundry stays done and I get good cooked meals instead of eating out of a box or a bag every night.

She starts in on the nagging I get her friend to come over and I hit the poker room or kick back in my office/man cave.

Don't get married. If you do, you will eventually get divorced and will lose any 401k or pension that you have. I've never been married, but know many co-workers that lost half of their pension and half of their 401k when they got divorced. It may not seem like it's a big deal, but if you lose half of your pension when you are about to retire, it makes a difference. You will never be able to retire. You'll be working as a Walmart greeter when you should be retired. DON'T get married. If you need sex that bad get a hooker or have a girlfriend but never marry, ever!!!

It was said with a little bit of joking man. But yeah its one thing if you have a small apartment or a side room in your parents' house that might be easy to keep neat but trust me its a struggle with a house and two kids with all the coming and going and people in and out for all the goings on. And my contribution is shuttling them to and from school, baseball, football, cheer and tumble for what seems like 24/7 trips. But its a fun time, can't complain. Beats being single but I remember the younger days when I thought that was the way to go so to each his own.

I know what you mean. My GF has 2 teenage daughters who are heavy into soccer etc, her ex is such a prick she does virtually everything for them in addition to work, house etc. Makes it difficult to see each other as much as we would like.

I am 51 and never been married, part my choice and part women's choice. I do not care if it happens, but would do it if i met the right person and she wanted that. I feel that age has given me the ability to not do it with the wrong person. Certainly would not rush it. Too many people do it too young.

No interest in marriage. Seen all my buddies that got married get divorced, and most of their parents too. Marriage is nothing more than financial security for women, and sex security for men anyway.

Maybe when I'm old, shriveled up, without the energy to go out and get women, and in need of someone to take care of me I'll consider it.

No, my dad was from the generation that settled down and got married straight out of high school. However, 2 divorces sapped my dad financially and sucked the life out of him. He would have been pretty well off otherwise, and most likely would have lived longer.

Different world these days. Women in it only for the money, and guys for the convenience of sex.
