#13If you're being serious with this question, which I think you are, but hard to tell on this forum when people are, I wouldn't live anywhere East of The Mississippi River. Why? Cause the population density is much higher in the Eastern half of the U.S. With higher populations, you get all the problems that come with that. Generally, higher crime, higher taxes, more pollution, more traffic congestion, higher cost of living, especially in the major cities. I also wouldn't live in Alaska, Hawaii or the bottom half of every border state with Mexico. Alaska and Hawaii are just too remote and culturally very different from the rest of the U.S. Unless you're into that sort of thing. Not living along the Mexican border should be self-explanatory, again unless you're into that sort of thing.
Here I've complied a map for you. All the red states are generally bad for reasons I've already explained. Grey are good and blue means don't live in the extreme southern portion of that state along the border. Also this isn't to say that there aren't any good areas in any red states, cause there are but again I'm just speaking generally.

#17I visit Kansas City at least once a year and it seems like it would be a reasonable place to live. It is the least stressful large city I have visited and doesn't have a crazy cost of living. Bonus for football fans is an excellent local NFL culture (and I guess the Royals......)Comment -

#18Sporting KC isn't too bad either. Plus they have nice amusement parks. At least one good water park and a good coaster park. I was born in Missouri and grew up in St. Louis but I honestly think Kansas City is a better region to live in. Most places in the Midwest and Great Plains are nice too. It just all depends how large of a city someone is looking for. Omaha, Des Moines, Wichita, Oklahoma City are also decent places in the same proximity, with similar cost of living.Originally posted by Axman3000I visit Kansas City at least once a year and it seems like it would be a reasonable place to live.
