from personal experience out in the brush country... one can definitely acheive that spray..... just ask the clump of prickly pear cactus I gave similar treatment to about 9:30 a.m. one cold december morning, after holding in the night before's mexican fiesta and margaritas on a well-timed trip to nuevo laredo while hunting in s. texas.....

that shit started barking at the door at 7:00 a.m. while hunting, but I held it as long as possible so as to not potentially ruin my hunt, til 2 1/2 hours later, when it would no longer be held in.....

the resulting "anejo/refried beans blast" made that guy's dump look like mere child's play.....
