i was raised in russia and it is a custom there to give a seat to elderly or disabled - so i do it in canada too.
But women... hmm... only if i think that may lead to smth... otherwise she better stay on her feet and make sure those buttocks stay in shape

About doing what's right. Having respect for others. If your disabled I'm not talking to you. But able bodied male. You should stand. Maybe you don't do it cause I said so but peer pressure is crazy thing and mob mentality is tougher than anyone I have ever seen with bad manners.
