There's a creep poking around my yard at night - whats the best way to catch this guy

If you catch him creeping around on your property in the middle of the night you can probably beat the shit out of him and get him arrested. 💡

Sadly, he's right (depending on the state I think). You can shoot in the air just to let him know you see him. Should do the trick.

The leg trap idea is a good one though. Don't cut your grass, so it's kind of hidden. Even if he sees it in time, it's going to F with him so bad he won't come back.

Install motion detector lights. They make motion detector driveway alarms which will alert you inside if there's
motion outside. Report to the cops there's someone coming around. They will patrol. Security cameras.

I'm sure you aren't the only one this guy is harassing. Your neighbors are too. Sounds like a crack head looking
for easy targets.

In California you would get screwed with this stuff. Shooting a firearm in the air in most cities will get you fukked.

And if some guy steps onto you property, wanted or not, and he hits something like a bear trap, he can sue and will win.

Leaving a bear trap in the tall grass, and my personal favorite...a 2 X 4 with nails sticking upward, will unfortunately make you guilty of negligence.

You just can't protect the castle like you used to be able to.

Now, like I read elsewhere in this thread, it sounds like the OP already caught the guy, now kick his ass.

A camera hunters put in the words to catch pictures of animals or deer or whatever. They are sold at tons of stores and are camo and made to blend with the tree. They will take pictures anything moves past it.
